Neural Repair: Rebooting the Damaged Life Signal Pathway — Science Popularization Event by Darwincell Biotech Held in Beijing

On November 8, 2025, under the guidance of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology and the Shijingshan District Association for Science and Technology, a science outreach event themed “Neural Repair: Rebooting the Damaged Life Signal Pathway” was held at Shougang Park, Beijing.
Hosted by Beijing Darwincell Biotech Co., Ltd., the event aimed to raise public awareness of neural repair and BCI technologies, promoting broader understanding of brain health.

A Focus on Neural Repair and Brain–Computer Interfaces

The event centered on the fields of neural repair and brain–computer interfaces, combining expert lectures with corporate site visits. It showcased how modern scientific and technological innovations can help repair damaged neural signal pathways and restore brain function.

Experts from neuroscience and clinical medicine shared insights on topics including brain structure, BCI applications, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy surgery, and sleep disorders.

Highlights from Expert Presentations

  • Prof. Li Yunlin, Department of Neurosurgery, Capital Institute of Pediatrics, delivered a lecture titled “Understanding the Brain and Brain–Computer Interfaces,” introducing the application prospects of BCIs in neural signal decoding.
  • Prof. Zhang Yao, Department of Neurosurgery, Sanbo Brain Hospital, Capital Medical University, gave a talk on “Understanding and Conquering Parkinson’s Disease,” systematically explaining the pathogenesis and treatment progress, noting that neuromodulation technologies provide new therapeutic options for patients.
  • Dr. Qin Guangbiao, Associate Chief Physician, Department of Neurosurgery, Peking University People’s Hospital, presented “Is There Hope When Medication Fails?—Exploring Epilepsy Surgery,” focusing on surgical treatment for drug-resistant epilepsy and introducing cutting-edge preoperative assessments and surgical interventions.
  • Dr. Tang Xiaomei, Associate Chief Physician, Department of Neurology, Haidian Hospital, Beijing, explored “The Science of Good Sleep,” explaining the relationship between sleep and brain function, and analyzing causes and solutions for common sleep disorders.

  • Ms. Zhang Yujing, Vice President of Beijing Darwincell Biotechnology Co., Ltd., presented “From Laboratory to Clinic: Innovative Biopharmaceuticals Opening a New Chapter in CNS Disease Treatment,” sharing the company’s latest progress in translational research on neural repair.

A special immersive company tour invited participants into Darwincell Biotech’s exhibition area and neuroscience education space.Through detailed historical exhibits, interactive science panels, and visualized demonstrations of disease mechanisms, visitors gained an intuitive understanding of the company’s long-term research and technological achievements in the field of central nervous system diseases. The “theory + real-world” format transformed complex neurological knowledge into tangible experiences, reinforcing public awareness of the importance of early intervention in neurological disorders.

The Beijing Association for Science and Technology continues to focus on health education, integrating authoritative resources and professional planning to provide a scientific health-knowledge platform for the public—covering topics from disease prevention to healthy lifestyle promotion.Looking ahead, we will keep serving as a bridge between academia and industry, hosting more public-oriented health science activities to enhance scientific literacy and national health awareness.
