On 11 September 2025, during China’s National Science Popularization Month, DarwinCell Biotech, under the guidance of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology and the Shijingshan District Association for Science and Technology, successfully held an Open Day at its Shougang Park headquarters themed “Caring for the Elderly, Safeguarding Memory,” building a bridge between the public and advances in neurological health through science communication and interactive activities.
At the start of the event, visitors entered the “Darwin Light of Life Science-Popularization Space,” embarking on an immersive journey with professional explanations to gain a deeper understanding of basic brain science — from the intricate structure of neurons to the pathogenic mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders — transforming abstract medical principles into intuitive knowledge.
Through a presentation on the “Corporate Development Journey,” attendees retraced DarwinCell Biotech’s growth trajectory — from its founding in 2016 with a focus on neural repair, to its lead pipeline ALT001 advancing toward IND submission — with each milestone reflecting the perseverance of its scientific team. They also learned the deeper meaning behind the company’s name: honoring Darwin’s scientific spirit of “evolution and breakthroughs” while expressing its original aspiration to drive technological progress in neural repair through biotechnology and bring new hope to patients. In this way, visitors not only understood the technology but also grasped the mission and warmth behind the enterprise.
Health Lecture
In the “Health Lecture” session, the expert team gave talks on early identification of neurodegenerative diseases, key points in daily care, and the latest research advances, delivering practical and rigorous health knowledge. After the session, visitors engaged in in-depth discussions with experts about real-life concerns such as family health management, risk screening, and caregiving challenges. In this warm and focused atmosphere, scientific knowledge truly moved from theory into daily life, responding to the real needs of an ageing society.
Significance of the Event
As a national high-tech enterprise dedicated to neural repair, DarwinCell Biotech has always believed that science should not be confined to the laboratory but should enter the hearts of the public. This Open Day was not only a science-popularization event but also a “two-way exchange” — showcasing the power of cellular technology to the public while drawing motivation from their attention and expectations to tackle medical challenges.
Looking ahead, the company will continue to break down the “walls” of science, conveying neurological health knowledge in more diverse and vivid forms so that the hope of “China’s original cell technology protecting life” can illuminate more people’s lives.
